P. O. Shipman, a wealthy farmer living near Wapello, died of heart failure. He had gone to the barn to prepare the horses for driving to church and dropped dead in the barn lot. He was 72 years old.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born March 14, 1840 and died April 6, 1913. He is buried in Wapello Cemetery.
