Clinton B. Foor, Resident Here Since 1940, Dies

Clinton B. Foor, 62, a resident of Muscatine since 1940, died Saturday night in a Bloomfield, IA hospital. Mr. Foor, a former resident of Wapello was visiting a daughter, Mrs. James Bailey at Floris, IA when taken unexpectedly ill.

Mr. Foor was born and reared in Wapello, coming to Muscatine about 17 years ago. He married Marie Otto Feb 10, 1918 at Wapello. He was associated with the construction business as an electrician in Wapello. He attended the Christian Church in Wapello. He was a member of Battery C and was World War I veteran. His wife preceded him in death Sept. 10, 1939.

Mr. Foor was the adopted son of Louis and Henrietta Foor, having been adopted by Mr. and Mrs Foor when he was two years old.

Surviving are a foster sister, Mrs. Virgil Peters, Wapello, four daughters; Mrs. Lauren Terry and Mrs. Donald Harris, both of Muscatine, Mrs. Arley Becker, Fruitland and Mrs. James Bailey, Floris, IA; four sons John Foor, Muscatine, Robert and George Foor, both of Fruitland and Walter Foor, Everett, Wash., and 26 grandchildren.

The body is at the Dudgeon Funeral home in Wapello where funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Thursday The Rev. Lawrence Powell, pastor of the Christian Alliance church of Muscatine will officiate. Burial will be in the Wapello cemetery.
