EVELYN H. WAGG

Eveyln Helen Wagg, age 75, a resident of Hershey Manor, Muscatine, and a longtime resident of Wapello, died Tuesday evening, January 31, 1989 at Muscatine General Hospital, Muscatine, Iowa. She was born October 21, 1913 in Des Moines County, Iowa, the daughter of J.Edward and Anna Stigge Perkins. She married Howard Cecil "Bill" Wagg on January 16, 1931 at Keokuk, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1978. Evelyn Wagg retired from Huttig Mfg. of Muscatine in 1977. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Wapello.

Evelyn Wagg is survived by four daughters, Alberta Prejean of Lafayette, Louisana, Betty Wagg and Martha Lihs and Sharon Nichols, all of Wapello; four sons, Robert of Muscatine, Richard and Jack of Winfield, and Larry of Wapello; twenty-three grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and eight step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, "Bill," and one brother Edward.

Funeral service for Evelyn Wagg was 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 3, 1989, at the Dudgeon-McCully Funeral Home, Wapello. Rev. George Yetter officiated. Music was provided by Elsie Stephens as organist and Gary Walker as vocalist. Casket bearers were Tod Fisher, Steve Grimm, Scott Wagg, Wesley Hatfield, James Lihs, and Charles Wagg. Honorary bearers were Gene, David and Michael Lihs, Leroy Wagg, Chad and Rick Wagg, and Dallas Prejean. Jr. Flower Attendants were Christina Nichols and Sheila Fisher. Honorary attendants were Madelon Elliott, Virginia Hatfield, Laurie Bowdre, Bobbi Wagg, Brenda Wagg, Kim and Corina Nichols, Lynn, Stanford, and Rhonda Terrie, and Sandy Wagg.

Burial followed at the Harrison Cemetery, rural Wapello. A memorial fund has been established. The family met with friends Thursday evening at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home.
