Obituary - Mrs. Permelia (Blake) Wilson was born in the city of Cincinnati, Ohio, in March, 1831. With her parents she removed in 1882 to the vicinity of Oxford, Butler county, Ohio, and in 1847 the family removed to near Morning Sun, Iowa. On Washington’s birthday, February 22nd, Permelia Bake was married to J. Riley Wilson, and with him united with the Morning Sun U.P. church. Mrs. Wilson was the mother of twelve children, nine of whom are now living, three having died in infancy.

My acquaintance with Mrs. Wilson was short, but I had come to look regularly for the kindly greeting and warm shake of the hand aa the close of the Sabbath morning service. It was my privilege to visit her during her brief, but painful illness, and, at her request, approach the mercy seat, and also to hear her express her appreciation of God’s goodness. Her illness, as already mentioned, was brief; on the Monday before she died she was in Morning Sun and called to see Dr. J. H. Graham, little thinking that she would pass away before him. That same evening, shortly before ten o’clock, she was seized with a violent pain, and on the arrival of the doctor he found her suffering with all the symptoms of appendicitis.

Death ended her suffering son Friday morning. She fell asleep in Jesus, aged 66 years. The funeral services were held at her late home on Sabbath afternoon, conducted by her pastor.
