Former Resident Dead.

Relatives received word of the death of Mrs. Jennie Potter McClanahan, formerly of this place, who died at Monmouth, Ill., last week after many years of ill health. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Potter of this place. Her husband, Rev. W. S. Clenhan (McClanahan), preceded her in death many years ago, leaving her with six small children which she has labored hard to educate. Those surviving are: Dr. Zenas McClanahan of Denver, Colo., Dr. Victor McClanahan, Aledo, Ill., Dr. Frank and Neal McClanahan, missionaries in Cairo, Egypt, and Mrs. Jennie McClanahan, wife of Dr. Howard Hamilton of Omaha. One son, Paul, died five years ago. She is also survived by two brothers, George Potter of Wapello, and O. N. Potter , a resident of Ohio. Funeral services were held Saturday.

Note: Burial was in Victor Cemetery, Viola, Mercer Co., Illinois.
