Veteran of Civil War and Prominent Resident
Is Called.

Wapello, Ia., Sept. 15—Dan Graham, Civil War veteran and highly respected resident of this city, passed away Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 at his home here, death ending an illness of several years duration.

Dan Graham was born in College Corner, Pebble county, Ohio, June 29, 1846. He was the son of John and Lydia Ann Graham, and came to Iowa with his parents in the fall of 1850. When 17 years of age in 1863, he enlisted in Company M, 8th Iowa Cavalry, and served to the close of the war. On Dec. 17, 1868, he was united in marriage with Miss Frances Hart, who passed away Dec. 10, 1914.

Mr. and Mrs. Graham were the parents of 11 children, a daughter and a son died in infancy. Those who remain are: Clarence, Mrs. Myrtle McGill, Mrs. Nannie Werner, Charles Graham, all of Wapello; Henry, of Muscatine; Mrs. Musa Schneider, Harold Graham and Mrs. Lucile Parsons, of Wapello.

Mr. Graham was a member of A. M. Taylor Post, G. A. R. and was senior vice commander for many years.

Funeral services will be held in the First Methodist church Friday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. C. E. Wilson. The American Legion and G. A. R. will have charge of the service at the grave in the Wapello cemetery.
