Mrs. Max Fisher Died Sunday
Marie Elmira Breneman, daughter and oldest child of Mr. and. Mrs. George Breneman was born in Columbus Junction, Iowa, November 2, 1906. As a child she grew up in this community and attended the schools here and graduated from Columbus high with the class of 1925.
She was fond of indoor and outdoor sports and in connection with her school work she took an active part in basketball and other school sports. She also loved declamatory work and in her four years of high school she took part and won in a number of contests.
Following her graduation from the local high school she attended Iowa Wesleyan at Mt. Pleasant after which she taught school for several years very successfully at Gladwin, Haskins and Indian Creek.
As a girl she was friendly and likeable and was very popular with the young people of the entire community, as she carried a pleasant smile and a kind word for everybody.
From early childhood she attended the Sabbath school of the Central Presbyterian church and on June 12, 1910, the pastor of the church administered to her the sacred rite of Christian baptism in the church.
On April 16, 1922 in company with her brother, Albert Hedley she united with the church in which she was baptized by making her public profession in the Lord Jesus Christ as her Saviour and Lord and has since endeavored to live an upright Christian life.
On August 10, 1929, she was united in marriage to Mr. Max E. Fisher of Columbus Junction and in their brief married life they were extremely happy and devoted to one another and their home for which they had been working and planning together for the future but on Sabbath morning, June 11th, 1933, about nine o'clock the all wise and great Father in Heaven called her home to be with Him in the mansions which he has prepared for all who love Him and commit themselves to Him.
Mrs. Fisher leaves to mourn her demise her young husband, her father and mother, two brothers, Albert Hedley and Gerald Breneman and many other relatives and friends.
