Wanda Miller

Wanda Marie Miller, 66, of Wapello (Iowa), died Wednesday, September 8, 2004, at Prairie Ridge Nursing Home in Mediapolis (Iowa) following a courageous battle with cancer.

Wanda was born on February 5, 1938, in Cairo (Iowa), the daughter of Bryant Woodrow and Bessie Chloe Bartholomew Roberts. She married Monte Miller on October 8, 1961, in Biggsville, Illinois.

She had lived in rural Wapello (Iowa) since 1972.

She was a lifetime member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary in Winfield (Iowa).

She was a dedicated homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Monte Miller, of Wapello (Iowa); two sons, Michael Joe Miller and wife Debbie, of Davenport (Iowa) and Monte Lee Miller and wife Kendra of Wapello (Iowa); four grandchildren, Kayla Nichole, Katie Jane, Chloe Lynn and Lucas Joe; and one brother, Irvin Roberts of Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Richard Ned Roberts.

The funeral service was Monday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, with Anita Forsberg, Marybelle Armstrong and Richard Davis officiating. Pallbearers were Chris Roberts, Jim Roberts, Mitch Roberts, Don Lett, Dean Zillman, Don Newton and Scott Buising. Burial followed in the Winfield (Iowa) Cemetery.

Visitation was Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
