Lenore OwensLenore R. Owens, 87 of Winfield (Iowa), died Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at the Grandview Terrace in Davenport. Funeral services were Saturday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction (Iowa) with the Rev. Joann Harry officiating. Burial was in the Cambrian Cemetery, rural Columbus Junction (Louisa County, Iowa). Pallbearers were Craig Owens, Brad Owens, Brian Owens, Terry Owens, Marvin Schmidt, and J. R. Brumley. Following the committal service at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship was held at the Spring Run Church, rural Columbus Junction.
Visitation was Friday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction.
A memorial fund was established for Mercy Hospital in Iowa City (Iowa).

Lenore Ruby Coon was born on July 7th, 1916, in Riverside, Iowa, the daughter of William S. and Iva M. McBride Coon. On March 11th, 1937, she was united in marriage to William Howell Owens in Cotter, Iowa.
She was a farmer for 40 years in the Elm Grove Township between Winfield and Columbus Junction. She enjoyed spending time in her flower garden and sewing.
She will be deeply missed by one son, Ivan Owens and his wife, Marilyn of Blue Grass (Iowa); six grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Ann Kornman of Tampa, Florida and Joy M. Brumley and her husband, J. R. of Solon; and one sister-in-law, Diane Owens of Traer, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Lyal, two sisters, Janis Hammond and Marguerite Eastman; and four brothers, Stan, Alan, William, and Donald.
