PILGRIM, Virginia

Virginia Lee Pilgrim, 76, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, died Tuesday in Bella Vista. She was born on March 12, 1932 in Oregon, Missouri to Ray and Tempa Fuhrman.

She worked for several years as an elementary school teacher, and later owned and operated a day care center for pre-school children. Virginia loved spending time with her family. Among her many creative interests were gardening, sewing, photography and baking. She and Don enjoyed golfing. Her warmth will be remembered lovingly by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Tempa Fuhram and a grandson, Garrett Hjerleid.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Donald Pilgrim of Bella Vista; her daughters, Suzanne Lee Kittelson and husband, Randal of Centennial, Colorado; Kim Lee Juinker and husband, Mike, of Decorah, Iowa; twins, Julie Marie Hjerleid and husband, Gavin of Wapello, Iowa and Paula Ann Jewell and husband, Warren of Roy, Washington; and Martha Lynn Pilgrim and husband, Josh Brown, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; a sister, Dorothy Anne Terhune of Lincoln, Nebraska; twenty-one grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua, Hannah, Lydia, Dane, Gannon, Taylor, Logan, Payton, Jessica, Samantha, Robert, Josey, Ames, Myla, Murray, Roy, Reyes, Solomon, Leaf, and Roald; and two great-grandchildren, Bodin and Jack.

The funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the United Lutheran Church, 100 Cooper Road, Bella Vista with Pastors Fred Nelson and Fred Schaap officiating. Visitation was from 9:30 am until service time at the church. Burial was in the Bella Vista Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills, Blvd., Bella Vista, Arkansas.
