War Veteran Dies - George Wagner, of North Concord TP., Answers Final Summons. Was Aged Pioneer Citizen.

The death of George Wagner at his home in north Concord township on Thursday, March 25, removed from Louisa county one of our pioneer citizens and a worthy veteran of the Civil war.

Deceased was born in Pennsylvania and came to the vicinity of his late residence in 1856. In November, 1857, he was united in marriage to Maria Doman, at Grandview. Mrs. Wagner preceded him in death four months and 10 days. At the time of his death he was aged 79 years, 8months and 20 days.

Mr. and Mrs. Wagner were the parents of seven children, three having expired during childhood. Four children survive. They are Chas. E., at home; Mrs. Emma Crull, of Fredonia; Mrs. Ida Karns, of Wilton Junction; and Mrs. Della B. Hamilton, of Nichols.

Deceased was a member of Todd Post, G.A.R., of Columbus Junction, and for more than a quarter of a century had been a consistent member of the Cedar Bethel Church of God. He was a man of sterling worth and highly respected by all who knew him.

Funeral was held from the home Saturday afternoon, at 2 o'clock and was conducted by Rev. E. C. Brooks. Interment was made in the Cedar Bethel cemetery.
