Miriam Rogers
Wapello-Miriam Elizabeth Rogers, 83, a resident of Burlington Care Center, died there this morning.
Committal services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wapello Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Smith will officiate. Visitation is at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home.
The daughter of Schuyler and Harriet Beane Verdow, she was born April 19,1900, in Wapello.
She married Harry Rogers. Mrs. Rogers attended the Teachers College at Cedar Falls and taught school in the Hillsdale, Ill., school system. She also worked for many years for the Kemper Insurance Co., Chicago. She returned to Burlington in 1967 where she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
One brother, Anthony Verdow of Wapello, survives.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers.
