Lola M. Johnson

Mrs. Lola M. Johnson, 71, Argyle, died at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday in Graham hospital She had been in failing health for several years, seriously so since February 8.

The daughter of the late Lewis and LIllie Helmar Brown she was born March 28, 1898, in Keokuk.

She was married to Herman Gustaff Johnson on March 26, 1917 in Keokuk. He preceded her hin death on December 15, 1949.

Mrs. Johnson was a lifelong resident of Keokuk, and had been a nurse aid at Graham hospital.

She attended the First Baptist church.

Survivors are three sons, George Andrew Johnson, Omaha, Neb.; Herman Johnson, Keokuk; and Virgil Lee Johnson, Minneapolis, Minn.; four daughters, Mrs. Max (Margaret) Henson, Warsaw; Mrs. Vernon (Dorothy) Groves, Montrose; Mrs. Charles (Katherine) Spiker, Argyle; Mrs. Charles (Jeanette) Ealey, Keokuk; 27 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; nieces; nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, John Arthur Johnson at the age of 2, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one sister Mrs. John (Hazel) Linquist and one brother, Lwellyn Brown.

Service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Schmidt Memorial Home with the rev. Virgil V. Reeve officiating. Interment will be in the Scandinavian cemetery west of Summitville.
