Vera Reid Wilson, 96, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Trinity Muscatine. Funeral services were 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery. Visitation for Vera was held on Monday, March 25, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Church of Christ in Muscatine in memory of Vera. Vera was born on December 20, 1916, in Winfield, Iowa the daughter of Earl and Mary (Abel) Bush. She was united in marriage to Virgil Reid on February 21, 1933, in Rock Island, Illinois. Virgil died on April 11, 1976. Later she married Mart W. Wilson on July 11, 1983, in Rollo, Missouri. Mart preceded her in death, June 7, 2005. Vera was a homemaker who enjoyed square dancing, gardening, canning, fishing, camping, traveling in all 50 states and most of all being with her family. Vera was a member of the Church of Christ in Muscatine and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star Electa No. 32 of Muscatine and Women of the Moose Muscatine Chapter 447.

Vera will be dearly missed by her daughters, Wilma (Lewis) Bixby of Columbus Junction, Illa Trumbull of Muscatine and Irene (Dorlan) Smith of Muscatine; her sons, Wilber (Georgia) Reid of Muscatine and Ralph Reid of Lander, Wyoming; 34 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Louisa Bush of Mt. Pleasant and Edith Bush of Rollo, Missouri and many nieces and nephews.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, three daughters, Virginia Pendell, Erline Adkins and Mary Lavon Sivertsen, three brothers, Edgar, Walter and Henry Bush, two sisters, Leona Bennett and Betty Felkins, one grandson, Vernon Hahn, two granddaughters, LeAnn Whitcomb and Teresa Lick and one great-grandson, Nickolas Hahn.
