Linda Gaye Porter, daughter of Clifford Frederick Finke and Muriel A. Finke Mitchell, was born September 18, 1948, in Burlington, Iowa, and pass from this life on Friday, December 7, 2012, at Clarke County Hospital at 64 years of age.

Linda grew up in Mediapolis, Iowa, and graduated from Columbus Community High School. She worked in the Des Moines County Treasurer’s office for many years. She married Robert Porter in 1984 in Burlington, Iowa, and they have lived in Osceola for the past 16 years. Linda was currently employed by DCS Sanitation Management in Osceola.

Linda enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Osceola Country Club, a member of the Clarke Area Arts Council and enjoyed being part of the community plays, an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, she was a member of the Osceola United Methodist Church, where she sand in the choir, she enjoyed her garden and her flowers, and she loved her cats.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents.

Linda leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Robert Porter of Osceola, Iowa; son, Chad Evans of Iowa City, Iowa; daughter, Annissa Evans of San Diego, CA; daughter, Julie Porter of Livingston, MT; sister, Christina McLaury of Madison, AL; brother, John Blecha of St. Louisa, MO; nephew, Rex McLaury of Madison, AL; as well as other relatives and many friends.
