Virginia “Ginny” Hartman
Virginia M. “Ginny” Harman, age 68, of Morning Sun, died Wednesday, November 12, 2003, at her home in Morning Sun. The daughter of Ralph and Georgia Strope Hartman, she was born November 4, 1935, at Buffalo, Iowa. From the time she was only four years old, she was raised by Archie and Gustie Johnston.
She was a graduate of the Morning Sun High School. She was a member of the Morning Sun United Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors of America, and Ducks Unlimited.
She was employed at the Morning Sun Care Center as a nurse’s aid for the past 35 years.
She is survived by one daughter, Shelly Sternat of Mount Union; four grandchildren; two brothers, Delmar Johnston of Morning Sun and Dal Johnston of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one half-brother and one half-sister.
According to her wishes there will be no visitation and her body will be cremated.
A graveside interment service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 17, at the Elmwood Cemetery in Morning Sun, with the Rev. Chris Thomas officiating. Following the graveside service the family will meet with friends for lunch and fellowship at the Morning Sun United Methodist Church.
Memorials have been established for the Morning Sun Fire Department and Ambulance Service, and the Mount Union Fire and Rescue Department.
Hagele and Honts Funeral Home of Morning Sun is in charge of the arrangements.
