Ronald Carpenter, 76, of Columbus Junction, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012, at Trinity Hospital in Muscatine. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. (Please wear your Hawkeye clothing if you have it). Burial will be in the Letts Cemetery. Following the committal services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Letts Community Center. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 24, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Ronald. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Ronald Dean Carpenter was born on November 18, 1935, in Muscatine, Iowa the son of John and Winnifred (Bunn) Carpenter. Ronald graduated from Letts High School. On June 10, 1956, Ronald was united in marriage to Sally Bennett in Letts, Iowa. Ronald farmed in the Letts area and was a carpenter. He was an avid Hawkeye fan and bowler who enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing baseball when he was younger and was a trade woodworker.

Ronald will be dearly missed by his wife, Sally of Columbus Junction; his children, Rick Carpenter and his wife, Laurie of Illinois City and Ronda Fifield and her husband, Steve of Muscatine; grandchildren, Ricky, Casey, Nickolas and his wife, Monica, Jonathon and his wife, Raegan and River; great-grandchildren, Layla, Hemi and Braeden; mother, Winnifred Carpenter of Muscatine and two brothers, Thomas Carpenter and his wife, Jeanie of Muscatine and Dennis Carpenter and his wife, Diane of Muscatine.

Ronald was preceded in death by his father.
