AGED RESIDENT OF COUNTY PASSES AWAY

DAVID OLIN DIES AT HOME OF W.W. SMITH THIS MORNING

Suffered Stroke of Paralysis Two Weeks Ago - Had Lived in State Almost Fifty Years.

After lying in a precarious condition for more than two weeks as a result of a stroke of paralysis, which he suffered on October 11, David Olin, an aged resident of this county, passed away at 4 o'clock this morning at the home of his son-in-law, W.W. Smith, at 413 West Fourth street. Until two weeks ago Mr. Olin was enjoying excellent health, despite his old age, and the announcement of his death will be a shock to a large number of his friends. Mr. Olin had lived in this county for almost a half century, and was very well known, especially in the vicinity of Lettsville, where he made his home.

Mr. Olin was born in New York state on June 17, 1828, and at the time of his death he was 79 years of age. he was united in marriage in 1852, in New York, to Miss Caroline Westbrook, and came west a short time later. He settled near Lettsville, where he remained until one year ago, when he moved to this city. He is survived by one brother, Walter Olin, of Beardstown, Ill., one sister, Mrs. Rosann Stanford, of Waverly, Ia., and one daughter, Mrs. W.W. Smith, of this city.

The funeral will be held at Lettsville at 11 o'clock Monday morning at the U.B. church. Interment will be made in the Wagner cemetery.
