Rick Dean McCulley, age 60, of Washington, died Thursday, September 27, 2012 at his residence.

Celebration of life services were held 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2012, at the Marion Avenue Baptist Church in Washington with Pastor Joseph Brown officiating. Visitation began at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the Jones and Eden Funeral Home where the family received friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening. Interment took place at Columbus City Cemetery in Columbus City, Iowa. Memorials have been established for Marion Avenue Baptist Church to benefit the Live Animal Christmas Play. Rick Dean McCulley was born July 26, 1952 the son of James Dean and Letha (Boulton) McCulley in Wapello, Iowa. He graduated from Wapello High School. Rick was united in marriage to Corrine Yvonne Glaspie on July 7, 1979 at the McCulley residence in Columbus Junction, Iowa.

Rick was an employee of Modine Manufacturing since 1997. He was a member of Marion Avenue Baptist Church, and faithfully served as an usher for thirty-six years. He enjoyed participating in church activities, especially the Live Animal Christmas Play. Rick was a very faithful man to his work, his church and his family. He had and has passed down a very godly heritage from his parents to his children as an example of what a Christian should be. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his granddaughter and their special tea parties, at church and working in his yard.

Rick is survived by his wife, Corrine; two daughters: Melissa McCulley and Patricia L. Carroll and husband, John, all of Washington; granddaughter, Sarah Carroll; parents, Dean and Letha McCulley of Columbus Junction; two sisters: Jean Dantuma and husband, Howard of Columbus Junction and Dianne Coolbaugh and husband, Chet of Huron, South Dakota; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Glen and Ruth McCulley; and his maternal grandparents, George and Pearl Boulton.
