Elma Chapfield, 88 dies this morning.

Mrs. Elma McDaniel Chapfield, 88 of Columbus Junction died this morning, Aug 21, 1979, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, where she was taken earlier in the day.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Independent Bible Church, Columbus Junction. Burial will be in Columbus City Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction.

Mrs. Chapfield was born June 15, 1891 in Muscatine. She married Harold Chapfield who preceded her in death about 26 years ago.

She was a member of the Independent Bible Church.

Survivors include one son, Vernon of Columbus Junction; three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
