OLD RESIDENT DIES EARLY THIS MORNING

MRS. THEODORE BECKE DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS.

Passed Away at 2 O'clock - Had Been Ill for More Than Two Years From Disease.

Mrs. Theodore Becke, 601 Iowa avenue, passed away this morning shortly after 2 o'clock, after an illness extending over a period of nearly two years. Her condition had been regarded as critical for a number of weeks and her demise was expected hourly for several days. Death was due to a complication of diseases. She had been a resident of this city for a number of years and also resided at Wapello and Cairo, Ia., for a time.

Mrs. Becke was born in Toronto, Can., April 5, 1864, and came to this city some years ago.

Mrs. Becke was united in marriage to her second husband in 1902, about four years after she came to this city. Since that time she had made her home here and had acquired a large number of friends. She was a member of the Women's Relief Corps here and this organization will have charge of the services.

She was married twice during her life and four children live to mourn her death. They are: Jay S. Van Horn and W.A. Van Horn., of Fort Dodge, Ia.; C.F. Van Horn, of Oakland, Cal., and Mrs. Albert Othmer, of this city.

She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. L.L. Bainbridge and Mrs. Robert Forker, both of New York city. Her mother, Mrs. W. M. Inglis, also of New York city, lives to mourn her death. There are five grandchildren who survive her.

The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home. The Rev. George Wright, who is acting pastor of the M.E. church in the absence of the Rev. L. M. Grigsby, will be in charge of the services. Interment will be made in Greenwood cemetery.
