Grenyth “Coline” Lake, 81, of Muscatine, died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Colonial Manor Care Center of Columbus Junction.

Graveside services were Sunday, June 24, 2012 at 1:30 pm at the Columbus City Cemetery. Pastor Mike McAfee officiated. There was visitation scheduled. The Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction is handling local arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice Compassus of Davenport in Coline’s name. Sympathy notes may be left to the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Grenyth Coline Williams was born August 26, 1930 in Fruitland, IA, the daughter of Ralph E. and Arlene A. (Lockwood) Williams. On December 15, 1946 Coline was united in marriage to Lynn E. Wellington in Lone Tree. After his passing she married Louis Rathjen in 1965 in Columbus City, and after Louis’ passing she married Lawrence A. Lake on August 13, 1971 in Quincy, IL. Coline was a homemaker and attended the Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crocheting, making ceramics and playing Trivial Pursuit.

Coline will be dearly missed by her children, Linda K. Uthe and Fred of Iowa City, Willis E. Wellington and wife, Cindy of Washington, IA, Diana L. Wellington and Bob of Phoenix, AZ, Karen R. Salazar and husband, Abel of Columbus Junction and James D. Wellington and wife, Penny of Brighton; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra Morrissey of Cave Junction, OR; and brother, Larry J. Williams and wife, Linda of McAllen, TX.

Coline was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, daughter, Vicky Wellington and brother, Jerome Williams.
