Mary Pine

Mary Pine, 89, of Columbus Junction, formerly of Keota, died Tuesday, October 28, 2003, at the Colonial Manor Care Center in Columbus Junction.

She was born August 3, 1914 in Kinross, Iowa to Albert and Maude Waters Schauenberg. On October 31, 1946, she married Raymond H. Pine in Albert Lea, Minnesota.

She was a homemaker and worked in the school cafeteria in Keota.

She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Cubs and the Lakers, liked playing cribbage, working puzzles, watching soap operas, and watching and feeding the birds.

Survivors include her son, Dennis Pine of Columbus City; her daughter, Pamela Sunderman and husband Mike of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Terry Pine, and his wife Kristina, of Monee, Illinois and Rebecca Sunderman of Minneapolis; one great-granddaughter, Rylie Lynn Pine; one sister, Ruth See of Keota; and five nephews and two nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond, in May 1971; one brother, Dale Schauenberg; and three sisters, Rosa Peiffer, Ann Schauenberg and Edith McDonald.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction with the Rev. Cathy Whitlatch officiating. Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery.

Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
