Mildred Noble
Mildred Margaret ‘Millie’ Noble, 83, of rural Morning Sun, died Monday morning, October 13, 2003, at the Morning Sun Care Center. The daughter of Lloyd C. and Minnie Wilson Perkins, she was born April 11, 1920, in Louisa County. She married Donald R. Noble on August 13, 1938, in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 21, 1972.
Mildred attended school in Wapello.
She was involved with the farming operation for many years and then also did housekeeping in many homes after her husband’s death.
She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary at Wapello and had attended the United Methodist Church in Morning Sun. She was an avid quil6ter and also enjoyed other fancy work along with her passion for caring for her yard. Her family brought her the most joy.
Survivors include a son, Donald C. and Wunita Noble of Columbus Junction; five grandchildren, Mike, Mark, Doug, Nick, and Leanna; seven great-grandchidlren, David, Danielle, Shanae, Hope, Destaney, Britton and Ruby; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; a son, Fred; her step-mother, Effie Harrington; a grandson, Peter; two brothers, Elmer and Les Perkins; and an infant sister.
The funeral service for Mildred Noble will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 17 at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Harlan W. Winter. Organ music will be provided by Bev. Parsons. Burial will follow at the Wapello Cemetery. The pallbearers are Mike, Mark, Doug, Nick, David, Danielle, Britton and Ruby.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
A memorial fund has been established.
