FUNERAL HERE FOR PERRY YOHE

Funeral services were held at the
Presbyterian church here on Tuesday
afternoon for P. A. Yohe, former
resident whose death occurred on
August 26 at his home near Stutt-
gart, Arkansas. Mr. Yohe, 80
old, had been ill for only a short
time.
Born on a farm near this place on
May 27, 1869, Mr. Yohe was the
son of A. S. and Glovina Perry Yohe.
On December 19, 1889 he was married
to Ina Swan and for some time
they lived on a farm in this community.
Later, upon moving to town
Yohe purchased the local telephone
exchange and subsequently erected
Morning Sun's first electric light
plant. He also opened the town's
first electric theater.
In 1914 the Yohes moved to Stutt-
gart, Arkansas where they engaged
in rice farming.
Surviving besides his widow are
a son, Carl, of Stuttgart, a brother
Harry of Stronghurst, Illinois and
2 sisters, Mrs. Jennie Giffin, Long
Beach, California, and Mrs Celia
Hays, Burlington. A son Ralph
Yohe, died in 1947.
Funeral services here were in
charge of Rev. O.L. Byrns and
burial was in Elmwood cemetery
