Mrs. Mary Chambers Died at Washington

Mrs. Mary Ingham Chambers, widow of J.A. Chambers, of Ainsworth, died at the Washington county hospital at eleven o'clock Sunday morning, June 24, 1945. She had been failing in health since the first of the year and had been at the hospital since June 6.

Mrs. Chambers was born July 15, 1869 in Grundy County, Iowa, a daughter of Marcus Ingham and Fannie (Boston) Ingham. She was married at Brighton September 18, 1894 to J.A. Chambers and her home had been at Ainsworth since their marriage. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star at Ainsworth, as well as the Methodist church.

Surviving here are two sons, Merle D. Chambers of Ainsworth, Iowa, and T-5 Millard K. Chambers of the army at O'Reilly general hospital, Springfield, Missouri; one daughter, Mrs. Nita E. Neiswanger of Oskaloosa; one brother, Harry Ingham of Yakima, Washington; one sister, Mrs. W. A. Middleton of Iowa Falls, Iowa. She was the oldest of a family of six children and three brothers preceded her in death, also one son, who died in infancy.

Funeral services were held at the Ainsworth Methodist church Tuesday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, the Rev. O.J. Fix of that church. Burial was in the Ainsworth cemetery.
