Albert L. Brown, 68, of Wapello, formerly of Columbus Junction, died Thursday, September 22, 2011 at his daughter’s home in Gorin, Missouri.

Memorial services for Albert will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery. A memorial fund to assist with funeral expenses has been established at the funeral home in Albert’s name. Sympathy notes may be left to the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Albert Loren Brown was born on November 17, 1942, in Fredonia, Iowa, the son of Charles Leroy, Sr. and Anna D. (Knottnerus) Brown. On March 18, 1957, Albert was united in marriage to Pauline Reddick in Columbus City. They had one son, Jeff. In June, 1973, he married Toni Rae Bass in Rock Island, and they had a daughter, Alicia. On May 23, 2003, Albert was united in marriage to Colleen M. Tomson in Oakville. Albert had farmed all of his life in Louisa County. He enjoyed fishing and eating his catch, hunting mushrooms, helping with the garden and most of all, spending time with his family and friends.

Albert will be deeply missed by his wife Colleen of Wapello; son Jeff L. Brown and his wife Julie of Muscatine and his daughter Alicia J. Berry and her husband Gene of Gorin, MO; three grandchildren, Chase and Corbin Brown and Cody Berry; a special young lady, Barbara Berry; and two sisters, Shirley Metzger and her husband, Richard of Columbus Junction and Beverly Finley and her husband, Bert of Wapello.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles Brown, Jr.
