Mrs. Elmer McDaniel (Elizabeth Kallenberger) was born Aug. 21, 1864, in Grandview, Ia. Died Feb. 7, 1906.

She was united in marriage to Mr. McDaniel on Dec. 27, 1888. Two children were born to them, Inez and Louis Raymond. Little Louis died some years ago.

Since last summer she knew that her stay on earth could be only a short time. I was a frequent caller during the last months of her illness. She was always calm and cheerful and declared that she was ready to go at any time. She had the perfect assurance of her peace with God and the forgiveness of sins. She declared that if there were any who were indebted to her they were heartily forgiven. No doubt Mrs. McDaniel had her faults like all the rest of us. To err is human. But the hope and the assurance and the peace and the patience that she manifested during her illness and suffering sorely indicate the fruits of the Christian spirit. And against such we read there is no law. She was a member of this church. Mrs. McDaniel made many of the arrangements for her own funeral. She selected the scripture lesson to be read, two hymns to be sung, and the pall bearers to officiate. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, their daughter, Inez, her mother, four brothers, and four sisters. H.S.E.
