BURTS, Genevieve Marie Coulter Whittaker

Genevieve Marie Burts, 74, 2113 Grandview Ave., died early this morning at Muscatine General Hospital. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Geo. M. Wittich Funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday at the funeral home.

Genevieve Burts was born Sept. 5, 1903, in Drury Township, Rock Island County Ill, the daughter of John and Lilly Cozad Coulter. She had lived in Muscatine most of her life.

Her first marriage to Raymond S. Whittaker took place in 1925. She then married Grover T. Burts in 1944. She was a member of the Glad Tidings Church.

Survivors include one son, Raymond H. Whittaker of Columbus Junction: one stepdaughter, Mrs. Louis(Juanita) Brown of Cedar Rapids: 10 grandchildren: 11 great-grandchildren: two brothers Leonard and Lester Coulter both of Muscatine: and four sisters: Mrs. George (Nellie) Harmon of Muscatine: Mrs. Joe (Grace) Bair of Davenport: Mrs. Harry (Myrtle)Van Est of Wapello and Mrs. Peter (Dollie) Whitlow of California.

She was preceded in death by both husbands and three brothers.
