Ronald Davis - November 12, 2002

Ronald E. Davis, who lived in Grays Harbor for nearly half his life, died on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, in a traffic accident on Highway 101 south of Cosmopolis. He was 55.

Mr. Davis was born on Sept. 5, 1947, to Ivan and Margaret (Knapp) Davis in Burlington, Iowa.

When he was 4, Davis' parents moved to Fresno, Calif., where he went to school. At age 18, Mr. Davis moved to Wapello, Iowa.

He was married to Frances Foster on Aug. 1, 1966 at Wapello. They later divorced.

Mr. Davis worked for J.I. Case Company and drove trucks for Mason in Burlington, Iowa. He also worked as a mechanic for six years in Wapello.

Mr. Davis moved to Grays Harbor in 1978 and worked as a truck driver.

He was living in Montesano when he died.

He is survived by a son, Ronald E. Davis, Jr., of Shreveport, La.; a daughter, Jody L. Ross of Hoquiam; a brother, John Brizzee of Fresno, Calif.; a sister, Janice Brizzee of Fresno, Calif.; seven grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

There will be no funeral service.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
