Edward Fisher Meets Accidental Death.

Wapello Republican—Edward Fisher was fatally injured and his 14-year-old daughter, Hazel, was bruised and shocked, when their auto was struck by a heavily loaded truck at the intersection of the Five Mile Lane and Highway U. S. 61, shortly after 6 o'clock Tuesday evening, August 22. Mr. Fisher and his daughter were rushed to a Burlington hospital by ambulance.

Mr. Fisher passed away about 7 p. m. Wednesday evening, Aug. 23, 1939, almost twenty-four hours after the time of the accident. The daughter, Hazel, was injured but not seriously. She was badly bruised, and the fright and shock was severe.

Mr. Fisher was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Barney (Boniface Vanheart and Sarah Catherine Bryant) Fisher. He was born on Jan. 24, 1877. At the time of his death he was 62 years, six months and 29 days old.

Mr. Fisher was united in marriage in 1904 to Miss Almeda Hank, who passed away suddenly from a heart attack the night of June 17, 1939.

Five children were born to this union: Alfred (Edrie), Gladys (Pete) Korf, Max, Pauline (Gene) Faris, and Hazel. He leaves also a brother, Alvia
Fisher and a sister, Mrs. Lewis C. (Mary) Murfin.
