Sue Bunker

Sue Bunker, 82, passed away on November 20, 2010, at her home in Hastings, MN.

She was born October 23, 1928 in Burlington, IA to Ernest and Millicent Hicklin Winter of Wapello, Iowa, where she grew up and graduated from Wapello High School with the class of 1946. She went on to graduate from the University of Iowa in 1951 where she met her husband, Harry S. ‘Bud’ Bunker Jr. They were married on February 3, 1951, and had four children. After several years in Iowa land Colorado, in 1964 they moved to Sioux Falls, SD where Sue was a long time real estate broker and appraiser. She was active with the Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce, Water Board and other civic organizations.

She spent her retirement years in Hastings and was an accomplished pilot, hot-air balloonist and world-class bagpiper.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Ernest Winter of New Orleans, LA.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Jean Lewis of Ojai, California and brother, David (Gladys Shoup) Winter of Marshalltown, Iowa; sister-in-law Hollis W. Canterbury of Addison, Texas and Jacqueline Kasrt Winter of new Orleans, LA; children, Sarah Shippy of Hastings, John Bunker of Santa Clarita, California, Harry (Amber Nelson) Bunker III of Sioux Falls, and Carolyn Green of Eagan, Minn; grandchildren, Nathanial Bunker of Long Beach, Calif., Nicole Green and Ashley Green; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was a grand lady who lived a grand life and will be missed by many.
