Henry C. Wagner

Henry Clyde wagner, 74, of rural Wapello, Iowa, died Monday, December 27, 2010, at his home. The son of Henry A. and Galilee Johnson Wagner, he was born on November 2, 1936 in Wapello.

Henry attended Wapello School and served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1954 to 1957.

He owned and operated the Wagner Ready Mix in Wapello and then was a truck driver and later drove for several years for Nelson Trucking. After retiring he operated Anytime Towing and Tires in Wapello. Henry enjoyed scrapping.

His surviving family includes two sons, Bradley and Tami Wagner of Palmdale, California and Timothy and Dawn Wagner of Wapello; a daughter, Heidi sterner of Los Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren, Kristyn Delzell, Kaitlyn Wagner, Kortney Wagner, Sydney Sterner and Caleb Sterner; two great-grandchildren, Zoey and Hayden Delzell; a sister, Patricia Russell of Wapello; and two brothers, Donald Wagner of Burlington and Kenneth Wagner of Blue Grass.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Darrell ‘DeeDee’.

Cremation was chosen.

Visitation was Friday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello where the family met with friends from 4 to 7 p.m.

A private burial took place Saturday, with military rites by the Wapello VFW Glenn Allen Post 5166.

A memorial fund was established to benefit the Wapello VFW Post and Wapello Fire and Rescue Department.
