Claudine A. Stigge

Claudine Ann Stigge, 75 of Oakville, died Saturday evening, February 19, 2011 at the Wapello Nursing and Rehab Center. The daughter of Guy and Blanche (Bowdre) Brown, she was born January 14, 1936 at Wapello. On June 2, 1952, she married Kenneth Stigge at Oakville; he died March 5, 2007.

She worked as a restaurant cook in Wapello for many years and owned her own restaurant in Oakville. She was given an award from Governor Brandstad for her work at Congregate Meals. She enjoyed oil painting, puzzles, reading, dogs, gardening, and farmers markets. She was a member of the Solid Rock Baptist Church in Wapello.

Survivors include: two sons, Lawrence and Christine Stigge and Bill and Connie Stigge all of Wapello; two daughters, Lou Ann Cedillo and Joe Reid of Wapello and Beckky Jo and Tom Murray of Chandler, AZ; a granddaughter that the Stigge couple raised, Lisa and Terry Woodyard of Oakville; eight additional grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Della Waddell of Toolsboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello with Pastor Dan Doolin officiating. Interment followed in Edwards Cemetery, rural Oakville.

Visitation was Tuesday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home where the family met with friends.

A general memorial has been established in her name.
