Marilyn Brockert

Marilyn Brockert, 69, of Wapello died Friday, March 11, 2011 at the Wapello Nursing and Rehab Center. The daughter of Leo and Viola (Stratton) Wagner, she was born March 4, 1942 at Conesville. On June 1, 1962 she married Harold Brockert at Conesville; he died April 6, 2009.

Mrs. Brockert was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include: one daughter, Paula Mangold of Mt. Union; four sons, Audie Brockert of Hillsboro, Phillip Brockert of Wapello, Marvin Brockert of Wapello, Marvin Brockert of Wapello, Russell Brockert of Oakville; 13 grandchildren and six step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Mona Alloway of Wapello, Kerry Ziehl, Patty Addock, Donna Alloway, Margaret Mesecher all of Muscatine and Juanita Lobdell of Davenport; three brothers, Bobby, Randy and Dave, all of Muscatine.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters, one brother, and one grandson.

The funeral service was held Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, where the family met with friends in the evening.

In lieu of lowers, a general memorial was established in her name.
