Ralph L. Orr, 58, prominent resident of the West Chester community, died at 7:45 a.m. Saturday morning, February 27, 1954. He had not been well for several years and was seriously ill for five months.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 1st in the Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Sullivan in charge. Burial in Elm Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Orr was born June 17, 1895, in Louisa County, the son of Edward J. Orr and Elma Dennison Orr. He was reared and educated in this county and was married in 1915 at Ainsworth to Laura Hesselgesser.

Mr. Orr had been a prominent farmer in the Wellman, Crawfordsville and West Chester communities, specializing in the breeding of purebred Hampshire hogs.

He was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge.

Survivors include his wife; one son Donald K. Orr of West Chester; two grandsons, Jimmy and John; five sisters: Mrs. T. A. Todd of Columbus Junction, Mrs. Charles Kos of LeMars, Mrs. Merle Lytle, Mrs. Grant Fletcher and Stella Orr, all of Washington.

One brother, Lester Orr, prededed him in death.
