The funeral services of Edna C. Bell were held Thursday, April 21, at 2:00 p.m. at the Fredonia Methodist Church, Rev. J. B. Pooley officiating.

Mrs J. B. Pooley and Mrs. Myrle Buster sang, "In The Garden" and "Face to Face" with Mrs. Charlotte Morrison at the organ.

Flower attendants were Mrs. H. P. Edmondson, Mrs. Beverly Thomas, Mrs. Margaret Schafer, Miss Peggy Bell and Miss Janet Morrison.

Casket bearers were nephews, John Bell, Leland Bell, Royce Carey, Rex Carey, Keith Carey and Stanley Carey.

The service was largely attended and the floral offerings were unusually large.

In addition to a host of local friends and relatives others from Muscatine, Washington, Wapello, Grandview, Ainsworth, Brighton, Kellerton, Iowa and Aledo, Moline and Chicago, Illinois were in attendance.

Burial was in the Indian Creek Cemetery.

Edna C. Bell, daughter of Thomas J. and Emma Edmondson Carey, was born in Concord Township, Louisa County, on July 3, 1894 and died April 16, 1949.

She was a life time resident of the county with the exception of five months spent in Phoenix, Arizona, where she met her death.

On February 14, 1912, she was united in marriage to J. E. Bell and to this union was born one daughter, Evelyn.

Mrs. Bell is survived by her husband, her daughter, Evelyn E. Frye of Phoenix, Arizona, and one granddaughter, Sharon Frye, also three brothers, Robert A. Carey, Clyde Carey and A. E. Carey all of Columbus Junction, Iowa and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Bell was a member of the Methodist Church having united with the church on May 2, 1928. She was a kind and good neighbor and a thoughtful friend.
