L.M. Dallmeyer Called By Death February 5

Lewis Madison Dallmeyer was born in Concord Township, November 23, 1877 and died at 3:50 p.m. on February 5, 1966 at Muscatine General Hospital after an extended illness. He was 88 years of age. His parents were Claus and Dora Wilkens
Dallmeyer.

He was united in marriage on December 21, 1898 to Theresa Weise and two children were born to this union. The wife and mother passed away in February of 1903.

On June 12, 1907 he was united in marriage to Gertrude B. McDaniel and to this union was born nine children. She died October 5, 1962. Mr. Dallmeyer was a life long resident of the Concord community and was a member of Pleasant Grove Bethel church.

Surviving are seven children, Harlan (Cap) Dallmeyer, Columbus Junction; Mrs. Vernon (Lois) Lowe, Muscatine; Mrs. Michael (Lola) Tremont, Wauconda, Illinois; Kenneth Dallmeyer, Antigo, Wisconsin; Mrs. Leon (Helen) Thompson, Letts; Lewis Dallmeyer, Columbus Junction; Carl Dallmeyer, Washington. Also surviving are twenty grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Ida Littrel and Mrs. Tillie Lee of Chicago, and Mrs Dora Crumly of Letts, He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, two sisters and four children.

Funeral services, held at 1:30 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Bethel on February 8, were under the direction of the Stacy Funeral Home, Rev. Ray Draper officiated. Organist was Mrs. Kenneth Houseal and Mrs. Ray Draper was soloist. Flower attendants were Mrs. Harold Shellabarger, Mrs. Lewis Newell, Mrs. Raymond Bonnichsen and Mrs. Ralph Lieberknecht. Casket bearers were Fay Foster, Lewis Newell, Harold Shellabarger, Virgil Bonnichsen, Ralph Lieberknecht and John C.
Gabriel.

Burial was in Indian Creek Cemetery.

COLUMBUS JUNCTION

Funeral services for Lewis M. Dallmeyer, 88, who died Saturday afternoon at 3:50 p.m. at the Muscatine General hospital will be held Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 1:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Bethel church. Rev. Ray Draper will officiate and interment will be in the Indian Creek cemetery.

Born November 23, 1877, in Concord Township near Columbus Junction, he was the son of Claus and Dora Wilkens Dallmeyer. He married Gertrude McDaniels at Fredonia June 12, 1907. She died Oct 5, 1962.

Survivors include seven children; Harlan, Columbus Junction; Mrs. Vernon (Lois) Lowe, Muscatine; Mrs. Michael (Lola) Tremont, Wauconda, Ill.; Kenneth, Antigo, Wisc.; Mrs. Leon (Helen) Thompson, Grandview; Lewis, Columbus Junction; and Carl, Washington.

There are also 20 Grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Mrs. Ida Littrel, Chicago; Mrs. Tillie Lee, Chicago; and Mrs. Dora Crumley, Letts.

The family will meet with relatives and friends at the funeral home this evening, from 7:00 to 9:00.
