Phyllis M. Steele, age 83, was called home to the Lord on March 9, 2009, in Sun City, Arizona. Phyllis was born March 31, 1925, to Clement and Hazel Allen in Louisa County, Iowa. She was the fourth of six children and grew up on farms near Columbus Junction, Iowa.

She is survived by her husband, Darris; son, Mark Allen; daughter, Ann Louise Howell; and son, Darris Craig.

She leaves a legacy of seven grandchildren: Kevin Howell, Rebecca Howell Wittas, James Howell, David Steele, Tyler Steele, Jacob Steele and Alyssa Steele; and one great-grandchild, Madison. She is also survived by two brothers, Mitchell Allen and Kenton Allen; and three sisters, Jean Buser, Marcia Steele and Barbara Lunning.
