Mary Lou Schlutz, age 81 of Lone Tree, formerly of Grandview, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Pioneer Park Care Center in Lone Tree. The daughter of Myrle and Pauline (Jackson) Stephens, she was born July 13, 1927 at Wapello. On November 30, 1946 she married Glen Edward Schlutz; he died May 24, 1998. She was a graduate of the Wapello High School. She was a homemaker and mother.

Survivors include: two sons; Ricky Glen Schlutz and wife, Kathy of Russell, Iowa; Randy Ray Schlutz and wife, Kathy of Wapello, Iowa; two daughters; Sheryl Ann McCullough and husband, David of Conesville, Iowa; Cindy Lou Schreiner and husband, Bob of Fruitland, Iowa; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters; Joan Charbonneau of Burlington; Myrlene Eubanks of Crawfordsville; and Jill Whitbeck of Kenosha, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers and one sister.

The funeral service was held Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello, with Rev. Rick Crooks officiating. Interment followed at the Grandview Cemetery. Friends called on Friday from 2-6:00 at the funeral home. The family met with friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service. Memorials have been established for the benefit of the Grandview Fire Dept. and the Iowa City Hospice
