Evelyn Louise Long, 94 of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Columbus Junction, Iowa, died Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction, Iowa. Rev, Faye Fedlam will officiate. Burial will be in Columbus City Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Cindy Faler, Julianne Patterson, Michael Faler, Matthew Faler, Nathan Faler, Drew Long, Amy Brown, Jason Long, Justin Long, Tammy Long, Michelle Long, and Christopher Long. Following the committal services a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Columbus Junction United Presbyterian Church. Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 P.M. at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Evelyn’s name. Sympathy notes may be left to the Long family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Evelyn Louise Fullerton was born February 4, 1915 in Eskridge, Kansas the daughter of Edward Wilson and Imo Ivalue Dill Fullerton. On August 19, 1936 she was united in marriage to Wilbur H. Long in Columbus Junction. Evelyn was a member of the Indian Creek Ladies Aide in Columbus Junction, a member of the Finley Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant and a former member of the Columbus Junction Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening.

Evelyn will be dearly missed by two daughters, Janice E. Faler and her husband, David, of Columbus Junction and Jennifer S. Long of Mt. Pleasant, three sons, Richard E. Long and his wife, Margie of Little Rock, Arkansas, Phillip M. Long and his wife, Dannette of Aurora, Colorado, and Kevin J. Long his wife, Lois of La Porte City, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Raid and her husband, Melvin of Burlington, and Carol Coon and her husband, Bob of Washington; and two sisters-in-law, Marjorie Fullerton of Washington, and Mary Long of Crawfordsville.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1997, two brothers, Francis and Lavon; one sister, Catherine Story, one grandson, Michael; and one great-great-granddaughter.
