Donna L. Eden, 78, of rural Columbus Junction, died Friday, November 12, 2010 at Colonial Manor Care Center in Columbus Junction.

Funeral services were Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Casket bearers were Leonard Chatfield, Ed Hoag, Dave Bell, Pete Bell, Keith Dodson, and Steve Dodson. Burial was in Columbus City Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday, November 16th, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the CJ United Methodist Church, Iowa Hospice of Muscatine or Colonial Manor, in Donna’s name. Sympathy notes may be left to the Eden family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Donna Lee Eden was born March 11, 1932, in River Junction, the daughter of Dayton O. and Mildred V. (Dodson) Eden. She was an only child. The family later moved to a farm near Columbus Junction and she graduated from Columbus Community School in 1950. Donna was a member of the United Methodist Church of Columbus Junction. She was past treasurer of the Columbus Senior Center and a past member of the Hobby Club and The Friendly Neighbors. She was involved with the Deborah Circle at the Methodist Church as well. Donna loved her cats, mowing her yard and gardening. She also treasured her friendship with her neighbors, the Chatfields and the Hoags.

Donna is survived by her cousins, Cleo Dodson and his wife, Shirley of Lone Tree, Kenny Dodson and his wife, Audrey of Lone Tree, David Bell and his wife, Clarice of Washington, Pete Bell and his wife, Carol of Keota, Norma Larew and her husband, Jack of Lone Tree, Vernon Eden and his wife, Sharon of Iowa City, Eve Eden of West Liberty, Glen Pederson and his wife, Cora of Iowa City, Jerry Bean and his wife, Betty of Ainsworth, Larry Bean and his wife, Kathy of Ainsworth, and Roberta Carlson of Columbus Junction, and extended families in the surrounding areas.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents.
