Thomas E. “Tom” Jones, age 92, of Washington formerly of Crawfordsville, died Sunday February 28, 2010, at the United Presbyterian Home following an extended illness.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 am Monday March 15, 2010, at the Jones - Eden Funeral Home with Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. Visitation will begin 11:00 am Sunday March 14, 2010 at the Jones - Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Interment will take place at the Cambrian Cemetery in rural Columbus Junction. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a memorial of the donor’s choice. Tom was born on August 20, 1917 in Crawfordsville, Iowa the son of Hugh and Bessie (Rees) Jones. He attended school in Crawfordsville where he graduated from high school in 1935. Tom was united in marriage to Lois M. Stine on May 31, 1941 in Bethany, Missouri. Tom farmed for many years in the Crawfordsville area. Later he drove a truck for Christner Trucking, and later drove a school bus for Wyman, Crawfordsville, and WACO school districts. He was a member of the Salem Welsh Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder.

Tom is survived by his son, Larry Hugh Jones of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Jones of Georgetown, Texas; two grandchildren; brothers, Lester Rowland Jones and wife, Marion of Crawfordsville; John Harold Jones of Crawfordsville; Robert Evan Jones and wife, Marjorie of Wellman; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Jones of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois in 1987; son, Wayne Jones in 2006; sister-in-law, Marjorie M. Jones in 2008; one brother, William Jones in 2005; an infant sister, Margaret Elizabeth Jones; one niece and one nephew.
