Luke M. Heck, 20, of Columbus Junction, Iowa, died Saturday, February 06, 2010, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Columbus Junction, Iowa.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 10:30am at the Columbus Junction United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Faye Fedlam officiating. Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery with full Military Rites. Following the committal service there will be a time of food and fellowship at the Allen Wright Hanft American Legion Post #100.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 10th from 4:00-8:00pm at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Luke M. Heck Scholarship Fund, the Columbus Vocal Music Program or the United Presbyterian Church. Online condolences may be left to the Heck family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Luke Matthew Heck was born September 18, 1989 in Washington, Iowa, the son of Todd and Eileen Heck and Pam Allison. He was a 2008 graduate of Columbus Community High School and was attending college at Western Illinois University in Macomb, majoring in Criminal Justice, when he was deployed by the US Army in October, serving in Basrah, Iraq. Luke was a member of the Columbus Junction United Presbyterian Church where he had been a past Deacon and member of Y.U.P. (Youth of the United Presbyterian Church).

He was currently an Army Reservist with the 339th Military Police Unit in Davenport, Iowa, but deployed with the 354th Military Police Unit from St. Louis, Missouri. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, playing football, singing, watching movies and spending time with his family, especially his three younger brothers.

Luke will be dearly missed by his parents, Todd and Eileen Heck of Columbus Junction and Pam Allison of New Virginia, Iowa; his brothers, Logan Heck, Mason Heck and Connor Heck, all of Columbus Junction; his white Labrador, Annie; his grandparents, Ruth Heck of Washington, Don Heck of New Hampton, Gary and Joyce Hahn of West Liberty and Stan and Elizabeth Allison of Grandview; his great grandmother, Nima McClelland of Washington; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
