Arline Ruth Wier entered this life, March 12, 1916 at Grandview, Iowa. She was the second child to bless the home of her adoring parents and brother.

Little Arlene had been a patient sufferer with pneumonia and complications for nearly two weeks when the Heavenly Father called her to enter into her eternal home and abide with Him.

She answered the call Wednesday morning April 18, 1917 at eleven fifty-five, thus attaining the age of 1 year, 1 month and 6 days. To mourn the early taking away of their wee one remain her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Weir, her brother Ermald, Grandma Young, Grandpa Weir and a host of relatives and friends residing in or near this community. The family were sustained through the illness and death of their loved one by their many kind friends with their kind deeds, loving sympathy and earnest wishes.

The funeral was held at the home at 2 p.m., Friday, April 20, conducted by Rev. Ermil B. Frye, pastor of the M.E. church. Arlene was laid to rest in the Grandview cemetery.
