Anna Hank was born near Wapello, Ia., August 15th, 1876, and grew to womanhood here, and in the year 1897 became the wife of George L. Fitzgerald.

To this union were born six children, two of whom died in infancy, and four of whom survive her. The children are Nina, Lila, Beulah and Ida Verlie.

About two years ago Mrs. Fitzgerald took ill and was taken to Iowa City for treatment in the hospital, but her illness was of such a nature that she could not recover, and for the past two years she has been a patient sufferer, never complaining, and fully appreciating all that the loving hands of relatives and friends could do for her throughout the long illness.

All the care and love that skilled physicians and an anxious household could devise and apply for her comfort and assistance were brought into play, but the fiat of Him who rules our incomings and outgoings had been issued, and after the long struggle, despite the prayers and entreaties of all who knew and loved her, their appeals were overruled and at an early hour last Monday the suffer's spirit took its flight to the other world. Conscious to the last with the sweet words on her lips, "I am ready to go."

Besides the husband and children who mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother, the deceased is survived by five brothers, and three sisters, all residents of this vicinity.
