Donald T. Colton Called By Death
Donald Thomas Colton was born March 29, 1908, in Louisa county and died Sunday, July 25, 1971 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City at the age of 63 years 3 months and 25 days.
He was the son of Larry and Elizabeth Fisher Colton. He was married to Opal Honts on September 24, 1934.
Mr. Colton owned the Colton TV and Appliance Store and has been in business in this community for 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife October 19, 1958 and a son Ronald in 1936.
He is survived by two sons, Larry and Tom of Columbus Junction; five grandchildren; one brother Merle Colton of Alnsworth and two sisters Mrs. Dorothy Ellingson of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Pearl Bradshaw of Edinberg Texas.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 3:30 P.M. at the Stacy Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. William Moon officiating. Music was by Miss Dona Belle h
Hughes and Lynn Gilkey. Casket bearers were Walter DeVore, Lyle Morgan, Richard Honts, Donld Fairtle, Harold Mewhirter and John Coon. Hoonery casket bearers were Dean Cooks, Jerry Mapel and Neal Brown.
Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery.
