R.C. VIBBER RETIRED MERCHANT PASSES AWAY.
Was Riding on Train Near Tacoma, Wash., When He Expired - Death Due to Heart Failure.
Grandview, Ia., Oct. 12. - (Special)
The remains of R.C. Vibber, a retired merchant of this place, arrived here this morning from Tacoma, Wash., near where Mr. Vibber died suddenly last Saturday, while riding on a fast passenger train. The remains were accompanied by Harry Vibber, a son of the dead man. The cause of Mr. Vibber's death was due to heart failure from which he has been suffering for several years. The ailment was not supposed to be of a serious nature however and when Mr. Vibber left this place last August for the coast he appeared to be in excellent health.
He had corresponded with several people here and did not complain of any trouble and the news of his death came as a surprise to his many friends. He had been visiting with his son, Harry, at Tacoma, for a month, and left last Saturday for St. Anthony, Idaho, where he intended to visit with his daughter, Mrs. George Buster. He did not reach his destination however for while still on the train he suddenly expired. The body was taken from the train and sent back to Tacoma and today arrived here.
Mr. Vibber is extremely well known in this part of the country, having conducted a general store for a number of years. He had made many friends who will be very much grieved to hear of his death.
The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Evangelical church.
