John L. Thirtyacre, 86, of Muscatine died Friday, June 4, 1999, at Community Health Resources.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Geo M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. The Rev. Shirley Rozendaal will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at Geo M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. A memorial has been established for the spanger Chapel United Methodist Church.

Mr. thirtyacre was born April 11, 1913, in Wapello. He married Alice M. McConnaha, Sept. 11, 1996, in Muscatine. He moved to Muscatine in 1934.

He worked as a farmer and after retirement, drove a school bus for the Muscatine Community School District for 18 years.

Thirtyacre was a member of the Spangler Chapel United Methodist Church and Bloomington Grange #2057. He loved both flower and vegetable gardening.

Survivers include his wife, Alice, of Muscatine; four daughters, Kaye Pace and her husband, Keith, of Muscatine, Jane Pace and her husband, Charlie, of Muscatine, Frances Hirt and her husband, Rudy, of Muscatine and Norma Walker of Newport, Wash.; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Gale Thirtyacre and his wife, Creta, of North Liberty, Clarence Thirtyacre and his wife, Vera, of Yakima, Wash. and Dale Thirtyacre of Cirta, Fla.; two sisters, Ola Johnson and her husband, Clarence, of Michigan and Lela Noble of Morning Sun.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, Lucille Wittich Thirtyacre and Adell Bridge Thirtyacre; a sister, Ida Adams; three brothers. Carl, Chester and Elmer Thirtyacre; and two grandchildren; Jeffrey Pace and Charles Jr. Pace.
