Abbie Rebecca Brown, age 86, formerly of Wapello and Burlington, died Thursday, February 1, 1996 at the Maple Crest Care Center, Omaha, Nebraska.

The daughter of Clark and Aneda Spitznogle Sheafor, she was born June 14, 1909 at Wapello. She married Leonard 'Brownie' Brown on July 21, 1928 at Wapello. He died November 19, 1975.

She was a graduate of Wapello High School. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a daughter, Sunny Faye Gwin of Omaha; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; a daughter, Sandra Gossage; a brother Delmar; ;and two sisters, Dessie and Corny.

The funeral service for Abbie Brown was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 1996 at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello, with Rev. John Ling officiating. The organist was Bev Parsons.

Burial followed at the Wapello Cemetery. Casket bearers were Leslie Fisher, Jim Pogemiller, Sean Gossage, Ralph Peters, and Fred Bayne.

The family met friends Sunday evening at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home.
